Visitor Information
Noosa – admired around the world as a community that "appreciates nature and the good life" (New York Times, March 2002) – is one of our planet's special places A beautiful, safe, north facing surfing beach, calm river, fine restaurants, sophisticated shopping, unique National Park and an abundance of natural waterways provides you the perfect holiday retreat.
- Noosa Heads is the resort area that contains cosmopolitan Hastings Street, the waterways and the main tourist area
- Noosa main beach fronts onto upmarket Hastings Street providing a beach casual, but chic, environment
- Noosa National Park is found at the eastern end of Hastings Street and leads around the headland to the spectacular surf at Sunshine Beach
- Noosaville is the choice of river lovers with shady parks and barbeque areas lining the river banks along with attractive shopping and great dining
- Noosa North Shore is across the river; it leads to a seventy kilometre long beach that is navigable by four wheel drive vehicles and connects adventurers to Fraser Island
Over many decades Noosa residents have valiantly battled to protect the Shire and its natural environment. Many of those battles were won - and as a result Noosans are blessed to live in one of the last bastions of natural beauty, with sparkling, clear, warm surf, skies unsmogged, traffic unclogged, and a clean unspoiled river.
